Book Review – Fair Game by Patricia Briggs

Fair Game (Alpha & Omega, #3)Fair Game by Patricia Briggs
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Werewolves have outed themselves, and there’s been the expected range of responses from “whatever” to “cool” to “kill them all”. It’s this last response the wolves need to manage, particularly in front of the press, so any wolf who acts outside the boundaries ends up answering to their alpha, or to Charles.

Charles is getting burnt out, and Anna is worried for his sanity. When a call from the FBI for assistance is received, Bran sends Anna with Charles, both to help with the PR, and to help Charles try and recuperate.

Anna and Charles find themselves helping the FBI to track a serial killer, one who prefers his victims to be supernatural, and who has been killing for quite some time without the FBI realising. As the group closes in on the killer, Anna and Charles find their lives and their sanity in deadly danger.

The Third novel in Briggs’ Alpha and Omega series, I really enjoyed this book, and read it in a single sitting, in a single night, staying up into the early hours of the morning to finish it.

Briggs’ characters are excellent, in particular Anna who’s deftly written, and Briggs’ world building is delightful, slowly fleshing out more and more, book by book. Add a murder mystery manhunt (mmm!) at the core of the plot, throw in some tension, both character internal and plot driven external for our main characters, and see if your nails survive to the last page.

Bring on the next one!
